Mustangs keep rollin'

What’s better than winning your first playoff game?

Winning your second area playoff game.

Just ask the Madisonville boys’ soccer team who did exactly that on Friday night, using a big second half to post a 4-1 road win over Brookshire Royal in the second round of the area playoffs.

Cristhian Martinez scored two goals, and Luis Aceves and Mauricio Aceves scored one goal each. Assists were credited to David Parras and Alan Torres.

Madisonville head coach Baltazar Reyes was pleased with the way his team controlled the tempo of the game and looks forward to continued success, heading into the regional quarterfinals this week.

“When we have the possession we just want to attack and score,” said Reyes. “The guys are playing together and they want to keep winning. They are on a roll and I am really proud of them.”
