Mustangs send runner to state meet

Madi Caperton finished in the top 10 of 177 runners in her division last Monday in Huntsville to qualify for the state meet.

The top four teams in each division advanced to state as well as the top 10 individuals not already on one of the qualifying teams.

“I’m very proud of Madi as well as the entire 2017 Mustang Cross Country team,” said head coach Jo Dorman. “We wish Madi the best of luck at state and look forward to another great season as a team next year.”

The Lady Mustang cross-country team finished 11th out of 24 squads at the regional meet in Huntsville.

Caperton will compete at the UIL (University Interscholastic League) Texas Cross Country State Championships at Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock on Saturday.

All of the following runners represented Madisonville at the regional meets in Huntsville on Oct. 23: Madi Caperton, Allison Karr, Grace Williamson, Kourtney Fleck, Galanesia Gilbert and Haley Fleck.
