It was a fast and furious start for the Madisonville Mustangs boys’ soccer team Monday on the road against Shepherd. The Mustangs jumped out to an early lead and won by a final of 8-0.
Goals were scored by Luis Aceves, David Parras and Josue Hernandez. Assists were credited to Maurico Aceves and Ellis Reyes.
“I thought the team played really well as a unit,” said Head Coach Baltazar Reyes after the win. “It was our first district win in school history and hopefully there will be many more to come,” said Reyes.
Madisonville improved to 8-1 on the season with one tie.
The Mustangs will be back in action Friday at home hosting Cleveland.
