Mustangs use bye to focus on Shepherd

When building anything of substance – a house, a business, or in this case a successful football program – a solid foundation is needed.

You have to create structure, demonstrate hard work, and most of all have a winner’s mentality.

It’s with that in mind that the Madisonville Mustangs (1-5), led by Head Coach Rusty Nail, head into this week’s game against Shepherd with optimism on their side.

“Shepherd is good,” Nail said. “But we have been working hard on the practice field and in the film room so [Shepherd] will be a good test for us. It’s all about finding a winning attitude.”

Not only is varsity looking to get into the winner’s column this week, but JV (2-5) is looking for its third win on the season while the freshmen look to extend their impressive record of 6-1 against Shepherd on Thursday.
