The Mustang soccer team beat Crockett 5-2 on Friday while celebrating Senior Night.
Madisonville, now 12-5-7, is in its first-ever soccer season under the leadership of Head Coach Baltazar Reyes.
In Friday’s game, goals were scored by Josue Hernandez, Dixon Veliz and David Parras. Gerardo Garcia, Diego Guevara, Luis Aceves and Bayron Veliz had assists. Parras performed a hat trick for the final goal.
The varsity team faced Caldwell on Monday and will play in its final tournament at Westwood next week.
The junior varsity team got a win over Huntsville on Feb. 24 with goals from Diego Guevara and Christian Martinez. Joey Gonzales had an assist.
The JV boys play their final game Wednesday at 5 p.m. vs. Huntsville at Mustang Stadium.
The Lady Mustangs honored seniors Marleen Alvarez and Elvia Reyes on Friday night but lost to Crockett, 4-1.
Head Coach Lauren Lindsey said Vanessa Hinojosa scored the team’s only goal.
The Lady Mustangs play in the Westwood tournament March 11.
