Chamber members can vote for their favorite pair until 3 p.m. Friday by contacting Coordinator Liz Ward at or by regular mail at 113 West Trinity St., Madisonville, Texas 77864.

“Nominees need to be outstanding community leaders that have gone the extra distance to make our community a better place to live, work and raise our families,” Ward said.

The Mardi Gras-themed banquet will be held at The Seton Center on Tammye Lane and is set to feature guest speaker Johnny Carter.

Carter, a Madisonville High School graduate, led Kennard to a state championship in his first season as a 23-year-old basketball coach. Carter said he will sign copies of his book “The First Season” at the Chamber event.

Tickets are on sale for $50 per person, or $400 for a corporate table that seats eight. Chef Paul Aguilar from Oak Ridge Country Club is preparing the meal.

More than 170 tickets were sold for last year’s banquet, with proceeds going toward local scholarships.
