North Zulch FCCLA eyes state

11 North Zulch FCCLA students impressed at the organization’s regional conference in Galveston earlier this month and will compete at state in Dallas from April 3-6.

In the Advocacy category, Kashaf Shahid earned first place on her childhood cancer and 5K projects.

Abby Cervantes, Katelyn Crocker and Blake Housley earned second place for traffic safety in the National Programs in Action category and received a $750 grant for going to state, which will pay for registration and competitive events. In Promote and Publicize, Jannat Sunny placed second for Publicizing North Zulch FFCLA.

Madison Murphy and Tessah Gaffard earned fifth place in Interpersonal Communications for their germ presentation to elementary students. Luis Garcia and Dannicka Diserens also competed in the Entrepreneurship category.

The meeting was led by Mackensi Green and the new Vice President of Competitive Events will be Landon Theiss.

The North Zulch ISD FCCLA Advisor is Jane Dill.
