NZ community to hold fundraiser

NORTH ZULCH – The community is invited to a luncheon fundraiser on Sunday, June 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to raise money for North Zulch First Baptist Church youth pastor Dylan Dainty, who was killed in a vehicle accident last month.

Donations can be made for a “Mexican stackup” lunch and silent auction during the Father’s Day event at North Zulch High School, 11390 Fifth St., North Zulch.

Dainty, a father of 2-year-old Avalynn and newborn Liam, was with his wife Jessica at the time of the accident, when the driver of a vehicle on Texas 21 reportedly lost control and crossed over the center line. Jessica was injured and hospitalized but has since been released.

To date, more than $7,400 has been raised through a GoFundMe account, which can be accessed at Donations will go toward medical costs, childcare and the funeral, according to the website.

By all accounts, Dainty, also an employee of Madisonville mushroom producer/supplier Amycel Inc., was well-loved in the local community.

Those who cannot attend the luncheon can make donations at any Wells Fargo location via cash, check or by using the night deposit. Please make sure to reference the Dylan Dainty Memorial Fund.

Dainty would have turned 24 on May 22. Many shared special messages on his Facebook page, including his mother, Laura Dainty.

“Happy birthday in Heaven,” she wrote. “I hope it’s as amazing as you. I’m sure your smile is the brightest one up there.”
