NZ softball wins 2, loses 2

The North Zulch softball team settled for a split in its first four games Friday and Saturday at the Taylor Tournament.

After defeating McGregor 15-6 and falling to Pflugerville 14-2 and Harper 10-7 Friday, the Bulldogs topped Granger 11-2 Saturday before getting rained out.

Senior Robin Diserens pitched against both McGregor and Granger, while sophomore Ally Grier pitched against Pflugerville and Shelby Harkrider took the mound against Harper.

“All three pitched well as far as strikes and balls are concerned,” said head coach Greg Horn. “Robin [Diserens] threw spots well and avoided big hits, and although Shelby [Harkrider] had a few errors, I thought she did well in her first game of the year.”

The Lady Bulldogs will play in the Little River Tournament Mar. 9-11.
