NORTH ZULCH — The North Zulch basketball team split a pair of games last week, crushing Kennard but falling to Calvert.
The Bulldogs were coming off two huge victories the previous week over Richards and Buckholts. The team is now 12-9 overall with a 3-1 district record.
The boys came up short against Calvert on Jan. 12, losing 75-50. But they bounced back, trouncing Kennard on Friday, 73-58. The team’s young powerhouses continue to provide leadership on the court. Senior Hans Osth, sophomore Cole Weaver and sophomore Gerhart Wiese each had 17 points, followed by sophomore Tye Douga with 13.
“It was a great team and community win,” said Head Coach David Graves. “It was exciting to see my team play and watch them have fun and play with passion about the game they love.”
North Zulch hosted Oakwood on Tuesday and will travel to Centerville on Friday for a 6 p.m. tip-off.
“I think we have to keep going and also remember this is a long season and we still have one goal,” Graves said. “We are blessed to be 3-1 and I want to thank the North Zulch community for all the support. Let’s keep packing the gym.”
