Reginald Dexter Carter, 57, of Madisonville, known to his family and friends as “Reggie,” passed away on Dec. 1, 2016, in Madisonville. Funeral services were held at noon Saturday, Dec. 10, at North Madison Church of Christ in Madisonville with a viewing prior to the service at 11 a.m. Burial followed at Midway Southside Cemetery with Bro. Freddie Anderson officiating.
Reggie was born on May 26, 1959 in Midway, to Robert L. Carter and Wilma Jean (Brazzell) Lewis. Reggie enjoyed fishing, a good game of dominoes, loved barbecuing and was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Reggie was preceded in death by his father and his brothers, Ferrell Brazzell, Vick Carter, Lamar Brazzell and Floyd Lewis.
Reggie is survived by his wife Samantha (Thompson) Carter; his children, Derrick Merchant, Charles Carter and Tiffany Merchant; his mother; his siblings, Stanley Brazzell, Micheal Carter and wife Latonya, Michelle Carter, and Lloyd Lewis and wife Shalynn; as well as numerous grandchildren and other family and friends.
