Sandra Lee (Green) Standley, 80, of Madisonville, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016 at her home in Madisonville. A celebration of her life is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at First United Methodist Church in Madisonville with Rev. Patricia When-Glowski officiating. A private family burial is scheduled prior to the service on Wednesday at the Madisonville City Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville. 

Sandra was born on February 15, 1936 in Wharton, Texas to Wynell and Al Taylor Green.  She graduated from Sam Houston State University and was employed by the Pasadena Independent School District as a business accounting and typing teacher at Clear Lake High School from 1958-1959.  In the early 1960s, she worked at the Madison County Auction Barn and served as president of Standley Feed & Seed from 1985-1990.

Sandra was a member of The First United Methodist Church where she served on numerous committees, most recently working with the after school tutoring program known as ASK.  She served on the board of directors of Oak Ridge Country Club, The Madison County Chamber of Commerce, The Madison County Housing Authority, the Madison County Hospital from 1992-1993 and The Madison St. Joseph Hospital from 1994-2008 where she proudly served as chairman from 1994-1996.  Sandra was an avid tennis player and golfer where she made life-long friendships.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husbands, Darrell Wayne Standley whom she married in 1958 and Ernest Singletary whom she married in 1988; her parents, and her brother; A.T. Green Jr.

Sandra is survived by her children; Duane Standley and his wife Mittye, Jim Standley and his wife Susan, and Ann Poe and her husband Trae; her grandchildren; Randi Pipes and her husband Blake, Raynie McLaurin and her husband Kaleb, Carlie Standley, Leigh Ann Fuchs and her husband Cody, J.D. Standley, Lexi Standley, Kyle Poe, Zach Poe, and Abby Poe; her great-grandchildren; Blair Pipes, Rustyn Fuchs, and Charli Jo Fuchs; her caretakers; Jasmine Lopez and Kathy Simpson; and numerous other family members and friends.

Serving as pallbearers are J.D. Standley, Kyle Poe, Zach Poe, D.C. Nealey, Lamar Nealey, Timmy Winn, William Barrett, and Basye Barrett. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Andrews, Buddy Barrett, Ellwood Barrett, Butch Bennett, Bunkin Bennett, Tucker Blair, Charlie Carpenter, Sonny Dean, W.R. Hensarling, George Jaster, Sonny Knight, Mike Ladek, Donnie Lasiter, Cecil Neely, Bobby Stillwell, David Stiver and Dave Ward.
