Schools preparing for annual Christmas band performance

Posted

The Christmas concert for elementary school children in pre-kindergarten through fourth grade will be Thursday, Dec. 21, at 7 p.m. The concert will be at the Iola Elementary school gym. Students are encouraged to wear their “Christmas best.” This concert is adorable and the kids work so hard to learn the songs and dance moves. I highly recommend this concert. It can put even the biggest scrooge in the mood for the holidays.

The Christmas band concert will be Dec. 14 at the high school gym from 7-9 p.m. This event has kids from fifth grade all the way to high school playing cheery Christmas songs. It is a great way to see the progress and work the kids are putting in band and the great things they are learning.

•Congratulations to all the junior high UIL participants. They competed in Normangee last week and placed very well.
