Funeral services for Shelly Deniece Plotts, 57, of Madisonville, have been set for 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Madisonville. Burial will follow in the Pankey Cemetery in Grimes County. Visitation is set for Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Madisonville Funeral Home.

Shelly Plotts was born May 8, 1958 in Washington state to William Breece and Berta Rae (Ledbetter) Plotts. She worked as a dispatcher for Drake’s Towing and Recovery. Shelly was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madisonville. She was an avid NASCAR fan and taped many of the races. She also enjoyed attending car shows. Shelly liked to drink coffee and shop. She kept a very “well-groomed” yard and would do the yardwork herself. Shelly passed away in Leona on Jan. 15, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving family includes her “soul mate”, John Supulva of Leona; daughter, Larra Richie Hemphill and her husband, Timothy, of Normangee; brothers, Sonny Plotts of Madisonville and Jeff Plotts of Gladewater; and grandchildren, Andy Hemphill, Morgan Hemphill, Maecyn Hemphill, Jaxson Hemphill, Jett Hemphill, Jordan Simms, Landon Simms and Oliver Ellison.

Madisonville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
