There will be a special 6 p.m. community meeting at the Bedias Civic Center for all Darrell Hall neighborhood residents to discuss establishing HOAs in each Darrell Hall subdivision to address our terrible road conditions. Please bring your ideas and a willingness to work together to finally start the process of fixing our neighborhood roads.
We will be inviting some community leaders to join us, but this will not be a political forum, and everyone will have an opportunity to have their say and express their concerns.
•Community Bingo is set at the Bedias Civic Center March 8 at 6 p.m. All area residents (12 years and up) are invited to participate. Cards are $2 each, and cash prizes and concessions available. Call Gwen at (979) 575-0267 with any questions.

•Stephanie Buzynski asks us to share that the Grimes County Fair Association will be holding a public workshop to address facility rental and maintenance fees paid to the County concerning the annual Youth Fair. The meeting will be at the Fair Grounds, Tuesday, March 20, at 6 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to come and share their ideas. Thanks Grimes County Fair Board.
Youth across Grimes county benefit and participate in the fair and businesses benefit from the extra people in town eating, buying gas, etc., and many people don’t realize how much the fair must pay to use the facilities that week, most think we are there for free.
We are just trying to get an honest/fair proposal together for what we feel we should pay the county to use the facilities for that week, if you have questions my number is 936-661-5557
•I have been thinking about the officers who did not enter the Florida HS building immediately after the attack began and also, about the person who pushed the wrong button in Hawaii that caused the mass scare about a possible missile attack.
If our first response is to terminate or condemn anyone who makes a mistake or wrong decision (in good faith), we will never be able to learn from those mistakes, and we will make all those who are left, fearful of being on the "chopping block" of instant punishment and condemnation when they are in the position of making life and death decisions.
Let’s use our hearts, as well as our minds, when we judge those who must deal with life and death decisions. Each of us can make up our minds how these brave and faithful men and women should have acted when all of the information is available, dealing in the heat of the moment … no one can be so sure of the correct action to take; and we must give our first responders the knowledge and trust they deserve and let them know that we will have their backs and our unwavering support for doing the job that none of us would want to face in this very dangerous world.
Fear of facing retribution for making judgement mistakes will lead to indecision and fear of action rather than the confidence needed to make the field judgements that are vital to our community’s safety and security. DW.
