Take the 3-week challenge

Posted

Hello everyone, I hope I find you well as you are reading this article.

In this day and age, we have placed God and Church in the backseat of our lives; everything seems to come before going to church or worshiping God.  When we choose the things of the world over the things of God, we will pay the price.  Many people are praying for healing, praying for relationships, praying for schooling, praying for financial help, and when God doesn’t give them what they want, they ask why.

Think about this, what would you do if one of your friends, who had not spoken to you in years, all of the sudden showed up and wanted you to come and save them form a tragedy?  Would you jump to their aid and drop everything you were doing to go and help them? I bet God is sitting in Heaven wishing we would pay more attention to Him.  If we were to start each day off by talking to God, maybe He would be more inclined to help us when we needed it. If we set aside our Sundays, and Wednesdays so we could focus on His word and fellowship with our fellow Christians, maybe he would be more attentive to our needs.

Hebrews 10:25 says, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the day approaching.”

So, how can we rectify this situation?  We must get back into church.  Start this Sunday and make a commitment to go to a bible preaching, Jesus believing church, and attend that church for three weeks in a row, I’m calling this, “the three-week challenge.”  After three weeks, if you don’t feel better, if you don’t feel closer to God, if you don’t feel like your doing the right thing, then you can make a decision for yourself on weather or not to continue. I firmly believe if you will commit your family to attending church on Sundays, and Wednesdays, you will begin to see a difference in your home.  I know that God will shine down His favor on you if you are faithful to Him.

If you are already in church, then it’s time for you to take the next step, and get involved.  God want’s you to be a worker in His kingdom. Everyone has been given something that can be used to spread the Gospel of Christ. There are so many areas you can work in, all you need to do is open your heart and let God lead you to where He is.  There is no area of service to small to be used by God. You could mow the grass, work in the nursery, drive the church van, visit the nursing home, cook meals, be on a prayer team, host a bible study, sponsor a child for summer camp, etc. There is a calling from God on your life, but it’s up to you to answer it.

Again, if you aren’t in church, go to church this Sunday and commit to return for three weeks in a row.  Give Jesus a chance to show you how powerful He can be if you honor Him.  If you’re already in church, get involved and be a part of growing Gods kingdom. Give this a try, and as you do, open your heart and let God speak to you; you’ll find out that He loves you completely and desires a daily relationship with you.

God bless and have a great week in the Lord.
