Congratulations to the varsity volleyball team on winning area. The Lady Bulldogs had their regional quarterfinals on Tuesday. If they won that, then they will be moving on to regionals on Nov. 10 and 11. If they win at regionals they will then move onto state once again on Nov. 15 through Nov. 18. Hopefully the girls can go all the way again.
•There will be no school from Nov. 18 through Nov. 26 for thanksgiving break. Man, I cannot wait to have a week to relax and eat way too much.
•Congratulations to the secondary Bulldogs of the month for September and October — Blake Crocker, Codi Jo Halley, Steven Gooch, Blake Kitchens, Hailey Mallet and Amaya Womack.
•The elementary library will be hosting a book fair for kids in pre-K through sixth grade from Nov. 13 through Nov. 17. This is a great way to get your kids excited about reading and they love picking out the books themselves. Part of the proceeds will go to the library.
•Senior yearbook ads are due Dec. 21. You can go on the school’s website, Iolaisd.net, to find out more information as to ordering the page and specifications required.
•There will be no school Friday, Nov. 10.
•The end of the second six weeks will be Nov. 9, so be on the lookout for those report cards in the weeks following.
•There will be JH boys basketball parent meeting on Monday, Nov. 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the HS cafeteria.
•Varsity football will host Hull-Daisetta on Friday, Nov. 10, with the game beginning at 7 p.m.
Fifth quarter for Junior high and high school will be held in the elementary gym following the football game and go until midnight. This is a great event held by local churches for the older kids to have fun, eat and hang out in a safe environment. There is a short sermon for the kids to listen to as well.
