Warrants issued in fatal car crash

Following the investigation of the March 18 fatal accident on E. Main St. in Madisonville, the grand jury issued a subpoena for the toxicology report on Matthew B. Driskell. The toxicology report, obtained by investigating officers from the Madisonville Police Department and the Department of Public Safety, revealed that Driskell had methamphetamine in his system at the time of the crash.

The crash occurred when thirty-four year old Matthew B. Driskell, of Madisonville, was traveling eastbound on E. Main Street when he collided head on with a car travelling westbound on E. Main Street driven by Tracey (Sanders) Hood of Magnolia, Texas. Tracey Hood, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband, Robert C. Hood, 52, also of Magnolia, was a passenger in the car and he was air lifted, by helicopter, due to injuries he sustained in the accident.

Two arrest warrants have been issued for Driskell in connection with the findings.  He is charged with Intoxication Manslaughter (second degree felony) and Intoxication Assault (third degree felony) for the death of Tracey S. Hood and the injuries sustained by her husband and passenger in the vehicle, Robert C. Hood, as a result of the accident.  No arrest has been made at this time.
