Free COVID testing will be available at the Bedias Civic Center next Tuesday, Feb. 23, through Thursday, Feb. 25, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., each day. No appointment is needed for the drive-through testing. Bring a photo I.D., testing is free of charge.

Sandra Kay Mixon, 72, passed away on February 1, 2021 at St. Joseph Health in Bryan, Texas, while surrounded by her loving family. Her passing was due to complications caused by COPD. Sandra is survived by her step mother Faynell Moore; husband, Richard Mixon; brothers, Charlie and Steve Moore; and her children Cynthia Petty, Teresa Packer, Terry Harvey, and Ricky Mixon. She is predeceased by her mother, Jessie Marie Moore; father, Wadus Moore; nephew Adam Moore, and son-in-law Randy Hudson.

Cathy Ann Patrick passed away February 1, 2021 in Madisonville, Texas at the age of fifty-six years. She was born June 27, 1964 in Baytown, Texas to parents, Willie, Jr.

Linda Bracewell Massey, 76, of Needville, Texas, passed away on February 2, 2021 in Richmond, Texas. She was born on September 20, 1944 in Bedias, Grimes County, Texas to Raymond and Mary Bracewell. Her hobbies included making crafts, shopping, tending to her garden, and taking care of her many dogs overs the years. She was a proud “Mamaw “to her seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Linda will truly be missed.

Bettie Jo Faust, age 82, passed to be with her Lord and savior on February 6, 2021. She was born December 21, 1938 in Madison County, Texas.

The North Zulch women’s basketball team won their first playoff game in five years Thursday with a 60-38 Bi-District victory over Nordheim in Flatonia. The Lady Bulldogs’ Area matchup against McMullen County has been delayed until Saturday as a result of the winter weather.

The North Zulch men’s basketball team defeated Richards for the second time in a week Friday in a matchup that determined the final playoff slot from 1A District 29. The Bulldogs placed third in the district with the win to advance to a Bi-District matchup with Waelder that will likely take place Saturday.
