Carole Anne Price Counsil, 78, Humble, Texas, passed away at her home in her sleep August 30, 2021. Private graveside services will be held for the family at a later date. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to South Park Funeral Home in Pearland, Texas.

The Madisonville CISD board held their monthly meeting for September Monday and welcomed seven new staff members who began teaching in the district to start the semester. The staff members in attendance were Kelsey Byrd, Gia Harrison, Annette Bingham, Katie Hooks, Brittney Smith Skuria, Whitlee Burke and Sarah King.

The Madisonville football team will host Lorena in their homecoming matchup at MHS Friday. The game will kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

Madisonville football team torched the Teague Lions in their first road matchup of the season Friday by a score of 35-0, with all of their points coming in the first half before a running clock was used in the second. The 2-1 Mustangs will return to MHS for their homecoming matchup against highly-touted Lorena Friday.

The Madisonville offense totaled more than 300 rushing yards and four touchdowns in the team’s 35-0 road victory over Teague Friday. Seven ball carriers contributed to the ground attack with quarterback Jeramiah Burns leading the charge.

Madisonville’s defense recorded a shutout in Friday’s 35-0 road win over Teague and kept the Lions off balance throughout the night. The Mustangs recorded a pair of interceptions and 10 backfield tackles in the effort.

The Madisonville volleyball team split a pair of matchups with a road win over Huntington Sept. 7 and a home loss to Rudder Friday. The Lady Mustangs’ Tuesday matchup against Navasota was moved to Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

Services for Dustin Lewis Wells, 34 of Whitehouse, TX were held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Burks Walker Tippit with Tony Hays officiating.

Dustin Wayne Stanford, 44 of Normangee, TX passed away September 8th, 2021, in Bryan, TX. He was born to Donnie and LaNell Stanford on June 22nd, 1977, in Bryan, TX.
