Dear Editor, I am writing in support of Courtney Smith Cain’s candidacy for Madison County District Attorney. I have had the privilege of seeing Courtney grow up here in Madison County and I believe she is an exceptional candidate for this position.
Dear Editor, As the elected District Attorney of Grimes County and as a prosecutor with 26 years of experience, it has been a distinct pleasure and privilege to enthusiastically endorse Courtney Smith Cain for the office of District Attorney. Courtney is an outstanding trial lawyer with impeccable ethics and absolutely fearless as an advocate for justice.

Ever so steadily, Jazzmyn Jones has become a consistent scorer. The Normangee High School graduate has had at least 10 points in 11 of the 17 games she has played for the Centenary College of Louisiana women’s basketball team.

The North Zulch women’s basketball team split a pair of district matchups over the week with a win over Calvert and loss to Bartlett. The shorthanded Lady Bulldogs concluded their district season Tuesday with a matchup against Dime Box, which would decide whether they would be a three seed or four seed entering the postseason.
The Madisonville women’s basketball team won their fifth straight district matchup Monday over China Spring to improve to 7-2 in league play and secure the second seed in the postseason. The Madisonville men’s basketball team bounced back from a pair of back-to-back district losses last week with three straight victories over Robinson Feb. 1, Mexia Saturday and China Spring Monday. The Mustangs were sitting in third place in district behind Connally and LaVega at the time of this writing.
