Matthew Earl Williams was born January 21, 1962 in Madison County to Authur and Lula Mae Williams. He attended Marian Anderson School and graduated class of 1981. He was a man of many jobs including Coral Cafe and Westmoreland Bailbonds. He enjoyed fishing, sports, and spending time with friends and family.

Mustang Track

Body
The Madisonville track program competed in the Eagle Relays at Woodville High School Thursday and showcased a second place finish on the varsity men’s side with 63 points behind first place Lumberton. Rayce Hudson was the division’s second Top Athlete with 19 individual points while Lorenzo Johnson was ninth with 12. The varsity women’s squad finished fifth overall with 49 points while the junior varsity men’s side fished third with 71 total points behind top-ranked Jasper and Woodville. Soccer to compete in Bi-District

The Madisonville soccer team earned a slot in the postseason with a fourth place district finish and will battle Kilgore in the Bi-District playoffs in Huntsville Thursday at 6:30 p.m. “We are just going to have to come out and play some good soccer, be mistake free and leave everything on the field,” said head coach Baltazar Reyes regarding the Bi-District matchup.

Cap: Madisonville native Tra’Dayja Smith recorded six assists and 11 points to lead the Longwood Lancers to a 74-70 victory over Mount St. Mary’s in the NCAA Tournament’s opening round Thursday. She also led the Lancers with 25 points and six assists in a loss to the number one seeded North Carolina State Wolfpack in Raleigh Saturday.
