Last week was a homecoming for North Zulch, and as such, they hosted two basketball games in their High School Gym against Cornerstone Christian Academy on Friday, November 18. On the Varsity Girls’ side of the Lady Bulldogs, they won their matchup by one point for a final score of 23-22.

Texas A&M Forest Service urges all Texans, and especially outdoor enthusiasts, to help reduce the spread of oak wilt and invasive insects by taking preventive measures and being knowledgeable when collecting, transporting, sand purchasing firewood. As Texans travel for hunting or camping trips, they may unknowingly be bringing deadly, invasive pests and diseases along with the firewood.

The following persons were arrested or booked into the Madison County jail. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Darrell Ronald “Ronnie” Grimes; 74 years and 6 months; a long-time resident of Flynn, TX; passed away on Monday; Bryan, TX. A private burial will be conducted at a later date at Clear Creek Cemetery in Flynn, TX.

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is stepping up enforcement for the Thanksgiving holiday to ensure people are able to get to and from their celebrations safely. Texas Highway Patrol Troopers will increase enforcement on the roads from Wednesday, Nov. 23, through Sunday, Nov. 27. DPS Troopers will be looking for people not wearing seat belts, driving while intoxicated, speeding and failing to follow the Move Over, Slow Down law, among other traffic violations.
