Monday, August 28 marked a significant event as the Madisonville County Fair Association (MCFA) hosted its inaugural Agricultural Ambassador meeting. High school students from across Madison County convened to chart the course for MCFA’s upcoming year, sharing their insights and enthusiasm for the county’s agricultural future Out of 18 applications only 12 were chosen for the opportunity to be involved in the weeklong fair and all the other festivities that come with it.

My essay today is nothing like my usual. Here at the beginning, I want to remind all of you about the Museum’s new exhibit. Items from the baby exhibit are mostly gone now, and if you loaned us some things and don’t have them back yet, please come in and take them. The new Madison County Champions exhibit is in the works and should get better every day.

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we mourn the passing of Jenalee Marie Bullock, a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend. She graced this world with her presence on March 23, 1983, in Casper, Wyoming, and peacefully left us on August 22, 2023, in Madisonville, Texas. Jenalee was a beacon of light in our lives and her memory will forever be etched in our hearts.

Dillon Wayne Crocker, age 29, of Madisonville, Texas passed away August 18, 2023, at his home. A celebration of his life was held 4 p.m., Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Dillon was laid to rest in McVey Family Cemetery.
