Since the introduction of the Accountability Act for educators in 1996, the Madisonville Consolidated Independent School District has offered orientation training for substitute teachers. Prince Fite, the head of the substitute training program and assistant principal of Madisonville Elementary School, shared some of his insights into the program.

2002-2024 Kyle, age 21, gained his angel wings on April 14, 2024. To know Kyle, was to love him immensely, he was truly the light in all of our worlds.

1937-2024 Mr. Bobby Jones Ne-Smith, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on April 13, 2024, in Wimberley, Texas. He was born on April 5, 1937, in Bedias, Texas to Radford & Lucy Mae (Johnson) NeSmith. Bobby married his beloved wife, Ruby Aileen Manning, on August 9, 1958.

On Wednesday, April 15, a ceremony was held at the Madison County Courthouse to honor the 31 children who were abused in the county this past year. The event was organized by Scotty’s House, a non-profit child advocacy center in the Brazos Valley; the event was held to raise awareness about child abuse and to recognize the resilience of young survivors.

The North Zulch FFA chapter has seen remarkable success this year, with multiple students participating in various events and competitions. From leadership contests to livestock shows, these young individuals have demonstrated their knowledge, skills, and personal growth throughout their school years.
