NORTH ZULCH — Two vacant homes and several sheds burned to the ground Monday afternoon as heavy winds spread a 15-acre grass fire across several Madison County pastures. The North Zulch Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched about 3:46 p.m.

Crowds fill downtown Madisonville for the 24th incarnation of the Texas Mushroom Festival Saturday, Oct. 18.
