1948 – 2026 Curtistene Baylor, 77, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior January 5, 2026. She passed away peacefully while surrounded by loved ones.

1941 – 2026 Patricia Ann (Mayes) Sweetin, 84 years of Iola, passed away on January 6, 2026 in Madisonville. Her life will be celebrated with a visitation for her family and friends from 6 to p.m., January 13, 2026, at Day Funeral Home.

Madisonville Intermediate School third graders join county officers and deputies Jan. 8 for a Local Law Enforcement Appreciation Day lunch. Students made signs thanking members of the Madison County Sheriff's Office, Madisonville Police Department, Department of Public Safety, Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden and Madisonville Consolidated Independent School District Police Department for their service.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office recently received a donation of stuffed animals from Heart and Hands Family Care Center. Deputies will carry the comfort items in their vehicles and give them to children during calls.
