Eloise King passed away on December 31, 2020 at the age of eightyeight after a years long battle with dementia and is now reunited with her husband of forty-two years, Bobby Jack King. Born to Pierce and Lena Walker in Madisonville, Texas on May 2, 1932, Eloise later spent most of her adult life in Houston, Texas.

Eloise was an avid genealogist, proudly sharing her knowledge of her family’s history with her children and grandchildren and reminding them to “remember where [they] come from.” She was a courageous woman raised on the foundations of hardwork, grit, and perseverance.

Eloise was a devout student of the Word and regularly participated in Bible studies as a member of the Methodist church. She is affectionately remembered by her grandchildren as “Nana” and her great-grandchildren as “Grana”.

Eloise is preceded in death by husband; Bobby King; mother, Lena Walker; father, Pierce Walker; brother, EJ Walker; sisters, Irene Strickland, Essie Cobb, Arnette Horn, Jackie Tyler and Laverne Atwell and granddaughter, Kendal King.

Surviving family members include her sister, Icebell Morgan; her three children, Kip King, Keith King and Kelli Caskey; grandchildren, Rachel Balyeat, Candace Caskey, Besufekad Caskey, and Kolten King; great-grandchildren Ellie Grace and Camila Lynn Balyeat and a host of nieces and nephews. Her lineage will continue in fond remembrance of her special “smushed corn” and with the same steadfast resilience and feisty outlook on life.

Graveside services for Eloise were held 11:30 A.M., Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Allphin Cemetery in rural Madison County. Eloise’s son-in-law, Rev. Guy Caskey, officiated the service.
