Funeral services for Woodrow E. Renfro, 92, of Houston, were held 2 P.M., Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas Bro. Carl Williamson and burial followed in Jozye Cemetery.

Woodrow Renfro was born August 26, 1928 in Anahuac, Texas. His parents were Pete and Maud (Armstrong) Renfro. At the time of his death, he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Dayton, Texas. He was an engineer in the oil industry and lived in many parts of the country. Woodrow, his wife and their three sons moved more than forty times during his career. In addition, he and his wife traveled extensively. His children fondly recall that their parents had gone on over thirty-eight cruises.

Woodrowwas very intelligent and even had patents on several items he developed that were useful in his work He recently repaired a generator at more than ninety years of age. He was considered a real “handyman”. Woodrow passed away at his residence on December 25, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Maud Renfro; sisters, Lucy Heathman, Edith Romero, Ethel Daigle, Mary Constance “Connie” Smith, Leon (Renfro) Edmonds, Maye Renfro and brothers, Wayne Renfro, Clarence Renfro, Grover Renfro and James Edward Renfro. Before his death, he was the last surviving sibling of his many brothers and sisters.

Woodrow’s surviving family includes wife, Vera (Beckham) Renfro of Houston; son, George E. Ren-fro (Jan) of Hilltop Lakes and their family, George E. Renfro, Jr. (Adrianna), Patricia Harrison (Gary) and Will Frank Robbins (nine grandchildren & six great-grandchildren); son, Wesley Renfro (Sheena) of Pasadena and their family, Winde Renfro, Lucy Renfro, Callie Jo Renfro, James and Melissa Renfro, Joseph and Brittany Renfro, Starlee Martir (Alberto), Teresa and Frank Rankin (twenty-nine grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren) and son, Jimmy Renfro (Lisa) of Katy and their family, Morgan Elizondo (Jacob) and McKenzie Thompson.

Pallbearers: Jimmy Renfro, George Renfro, George Renfro Jr., Wesley Renfro, Joseph Renfro, James Renfro.
