On Friday, March 15 Madisonville CISD Police Department’s Sergeant Mahler, Officer Ogle, and Officer Lawrenz taught a mandatory curriculum to some of the Madisonville CISD High School students.

By law, school districts must provide instruction to students in grades 9th-12th on proper interaction with Peace Officers during traffic stops and other in-person encounters.

Madisonville Senior Joeli Hardy has been busy nonstop since the last time we sat and talked. She has shown at the biggest shows in the state: Houston, San Antonio and Fort Worth.

A Texas American Federation of Teachers union survey reveals that some Texas teachers are considering leaving the profession. The survey, taken by around 6,000 education educators across the state, found that nearly 70% are ready to quit jobs due to various pressures, including burnout, according to KSAT.

The Texas Department of Transportation recently posted the final environmental assessment for the SL 1853 Madisonville Loop project, marking a milestone in the proposal’s progress.

First Lady Cecilia Abbott, Honorary Chair of the Governor’s Volunteer Awards, announced the recipients of the 40th Annual Governor’s Volunteer Awards. These awards, presented in conjunction with One Star Foundation, honor the exemplary service of individuals, groups, and organizations that have made a significant contribution to Texas communities through service and volunteering in the past year.
