The Madison County District Attorney’s Office Presents the Angel Tree Project. This event gives the community the opportunity to purchase gifts for children and families who are victims of crimes. Other ways that you can help are donating wrapping paper and tape, and volunteering to wrap gifts.
Operation Blue Santa for Holiday Assistance

Operation Blue Santa is the Madison County Sheriff’s Office’s initiative, which aims to support those in need during the holiday season. The program benefits children, the elderly, and others with mobility restrictions who are eligible for nomination.
Brazos Valley TSHL meeting

The 20th Texas Silver- Haired Legislature held a member development and training session in San Marcos Nov. 12-15. Topics included a review of TSHL history, the 1965 Older Americans Act, TSHL members’ role in the Texas legislative process and as legislative liaisons, use of Roberts’ Rules of Order and how to research and write good Resolutions.
MERCHANT SELECTED TO PERFORM WITH ALL-STATE JAZZ BAND

Madisonville High School trumpet player Devin Merchant has been selected for the Texas All-State Jazz Band. In an audition process that began with over 2000 applicants from across the state, Merchant is one of only four trumpets selected to perform in the band.
North Zulch ISD Earns State’s Highest Fiscal Accountability Rating

North Zulch Independent School District officials announced that the district received a rating of “A” for “Superior Achievement” under Texas’ School FIRST financial accountability rating system. The “Superior Achievement” rating is the state’s highest, demonstrating the quality of North Zulch ISD’s financial management and reporting system.

During the Veterans Day program, Burke Landry, a World War II veteran, receives a salute at Mustang Gym Friday, Nov. 10. In recognition of his service, Landry is presented with a United States Flag. The event also paid tribute to each branch of the army.
