Doris Nell Tyler Moore was born in Madisonville, Texas on August 8,1952 to the late Ell Tyler III and Dorothy Lee Tyler.

She accepted Christ at an early age, was baptized at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Madisonville, Texas. She attended Marion Anderson High School in Madisonville but graduated from Madisonville High School. She was employed by Texas Department of Criminal Justice for more than 25 years before she retired.

Doris cherished her commitment to family and enjoyed family “get togethers.” One of her favorite quotes was “I love you to the moon and back”

Doris was called to rest on Sunday, November 29, 2020. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Victor (Marie) Moore, Jr. of Madisonville; Christopher (Rashana) Moore of Madisonville; one daughter, Victoria Moore of Madisonville; seven grandchildren, Victoria Moore, Ashley Moore Daddny, Jaravion Moore, Javiah Moore, Dakeldric Washington, Jr. and Dakedrian Washington, all of Madisonville. She is also survived by four great grandchildren: Amari, Mauris, Ka’mari, and Aniya, all of Madisonville; a loving mother, Dorothy Lee Tyler of Madisonville; five siblings: Flora (George) Dunn, Sr. of Madisonville, Jewel (Johnny) Gipson of Madisonville, Elijah Tyler of Madisonville, Mildred Jordan of Madisonville and Marcus (Joyce) Tyler of Madisonville; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Doris was preceded in death by her father, Ell Tyler III and brother, Curley Tyler, Sr. Active Pallbearers were Patrick Gipson, Curtis Tyler, Curley Tyler, George Dunn, Marlin Berry and Kendrick Tyler. Honorary Pallbearers were Keith Leblanc, Jerome Ausby, Da’Voszia Mock, KeAnde Dunn, Scotty Porter and Datraevion Wilson.

The funeral for Mrs. Moore was held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 5, 2020 at Madisonville Funeral Home. Pastor David Burns officiated. Burial was in West End Cemetery, Madisonville.
