GROVER CHARLES DENMAN
1934 – 2025
Grover Charles Denman, 90 years, 8 months, and 9 days, of Iola, TX passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 23, 2025. Charles’s life will be celebrated 1 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Cross Baptist Church in The Cross Community with Bro. Doug Dickey officiating. The burial will follow at Cross Cemetery. The visitation is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Day Funeral Home in Madisonville, TX.
Charles was born on September 14, 1934 in Iola, TX to C.E. Denman and Malvinee (Edmunds) Denman Hughes. He graduated from Iola High School and attended The University of Houston. Charles enlisted in The United States Army and proudly served his country primarily in Germany from 1955 to 1959 at the close of the Korean War and at the beginning of the Vietnam War.
After his enlistment, he began a thirty-two-year career with Humble Oil Company, now known as Exxon. Upon his retirement from Exxon, he moved full time to his ranch in Iola where he managed his cattle operation and where he operated his bucking bull business, thanks to his grandson.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Bill Denman, John Denman, and Geraldine Radley.
Charles is survived by his wife of seventy years, Mary Charlene (McDuffie) Denman; his sons, Paul Denman and Mark Denman (Suzanne); his grandchildren, Josh Denman (Stacy), Evann Tolbert (John), Paden Shore (Nick), Brittany Cannon (Chris), Larry Denman (Catherine), Nicholas Denman, and Ben Denman (Jackie); his thirteen great grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Chris Radley, Laramie Denman, Mike Reynolds, Adam Schultz, Walker Davis, and J-Gotti Goree.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are John Tolbert, Charles Tolbert, and Parker Shore.
