The Madison County Commissioner’s Court approved a proclamation recognizing Sept. 17-23 as Constitution Week in Madison County. This movement was led by the Captain John McAdams Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. The official proclamation, read and signed by Madison County Judge Tony Leago, reads as follows:

Two male subjects took $200 from an employee after breaking into a local game room, located at 204 South May Street, at approximately 5 p.m. on Aug. 2, according to a Madisonville Police Department press release.

On August 19, the Texas House officially reached a quorum. With the required number of members now present to conduct business, committees can start meeting in committee to consider the critical items on Governor Abbott’s agenda. I look forward to taking swift action on items such as election integrity, bail reform, border security, and property tax reform so that members can get back home to hear from constituents.
