The Madison County Sheriff’s Office announced the passing of Senior Deputy John Kindon, who died off-duty Monday, May 6. Kindon, who joined the office in September 2016, has left a profound void in the hearts of the community he served, causing many departments within the county to take off work on Tuesday, May 14, to attend his funeral services, which started at 10 a.m.

After a 22-year investigation that spanned two continents, Shannon Wilkerson, a former soldier, was convicted on Monday, May 6, for the murder of 19-year-old Amanda Gonzalez in 2001, according to a Justice Department press release.

The Madisonville City Council held its monthly meeting on Monday, May 13. The meeting addressed topics such as appointing members to the Planning & Zoning Commission and Capital projects.
