Russell Bailey, who has served as Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Madisonville since May of 2011, attended his last city council meeting March 15. “It is always a little bitter sweet to step down from something,” said Bailey.

C. Jack Hunter was born in Sherman, Texas on February 18, 1951 to Loys Hunter and Bettie (Miller) Hunter.

A year ago I embarked on my journey as MCFA Queen. The night I was crowned I maybe slept for two hours because I was so excited to get up, get ready and put my crown on again. I am very grateful that my mother always encouraged me to see my crown and sash not as a prize, but as an opportunity. An opportunity to represent Madison County, an opportunity to serve, and to grow into the best version of myself. Thank you to my family, friends and this Association for pushing and allowing me to lean into that person.

Kanin Cleere with Madison County 4-H exhibited the Champion Shorthorn Heifer at the 2021 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on March 4 at the NRG Center in Houston, TX. He received a $750 award and three United Airlines tickets. Kanin is the son of Jason and Kristi Cleere and attends Madisonville Jr. High School. COURTESY PHOTO
