Participants in the Annual Christmas Parade hosted by the Madison County Chamber of Commerce, held on Saturday, Dec. 2, display their festive spirit. Normangee State Bank, Kelly Riders/Montgomery County Riders, and Daniel Neely Trucking Company earned the top three spots, while the Mighty Mustang Band, serving as the Grand Marshal, led the procession through Madison County.

Emma Bearden, Cadence Brown, Emily Fetty, Mallet McClure, and siblings Matthew Brown and Abby Brown rang that Salvation Army Bell last Monday before Walmart. That’s just the beginning of the good deeds this Girl Scout Troop and leaders Samantha Fletcher and Tiffany McClure are doing during Christmas.

The City of Madisonville is seeking an applicant to serve on the Planning and Zoning Commission. The Planning and Zoning Commission is an advisory board consisting of five members, serving a 4-year term, who are responsible for making recommendations to the City Council regarding planning and zoning matters.

Texas A&M’s Beef 101

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Texas A&M University Science Faculty are presenting the 2023 Beef 101 program on Dec. 6 and 8 in College Station. This is a three-day intensive hands-on program designed for anyone who has an interest in expanding their knowledge of the total beef industry. This is the foremost educational experience for basic information about the beef industry provided anywhere in the US. A maximum of 40 participants per session are accepted to allow for maximum hands-on participation and interaction with faculty, staff and graduate student instructors.
