On Sunday, August 15, 2021, Jo Calvert, loving wife and mother of three children, passed away at age 81 in Sherman, TX.

Jo was born to Lee Henry and Beulah (Manning) Park in the Madisonville area on May 7, 1940 and was given the name Jimmie Jo Park. On July 25, 1958, she married the love of her life, Gary Mac Calvert. They raised two daughters, Anne and Nell, and one son, Gary.

Jo loved to sew and kept her young children well supplied with new clothes. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and spent many hours teaching Bible classes and VBS. She was a longtime employee of Chrysler Credit and later joined Gary in their arts and crafts business. They were a true team in business and in life. For the last 16 years of Gary’s life, Jo devoted herself to caring for him as his Parkinson’s disease progressed and his needs increased. She never complained, but lovingly continued to care for him until his death in 2007. They were a true representation of what it means to promise to love and honor each other “until death do we part”.

Jo was preceded in death by her father, Lee Henry Park, and her mother, Beulah Park as well as her beloved husband, Gary Mac Calvert, and a grandson, Cody Alan Pace. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Glenn Pace of Bowie, and Nell and Wayne Ard of Atlanta; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Shelly Calvert of Sherman; grandchildren, Joanna Pace; Laura Pace; Rebecca Chisholm and husband, Michael; Jessica Small and husband, Jason; Sarah Eldredge and husband, Jonathon; Kyle Pace and wife, Destiny; Christina Pace; Brian Pace; David Pace; Cortney James and husband, Justin; and Brandon Calvert and wife, Brittni; great-grandchildren, Kenzie Chisholm; Dale and Samantha Eldredge; Anna Rose Darcy; Easton and Addison James; and Braxten Calvert; and by her brother and sisterin-law Paul and Johynie Park.
