Delbert E. Davis, age 87, of North Zulch, Texas passed away peacefully with his wife by his side April 1, 2023 at his home in North Zulch. Delbert was born October 19, 1935 in Liberty Hill, Texas to parents, Jewett & Mildred (Witcher) Davis. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years. Delbert and his sweetheart, Jeanette Keeton were married in 1960. Throughout their marriage, Delbert worked in law enforcement, first as a game warden, then as a policeman for Texas A&M, and finally as a security guard for Post Oak Mall in Bryan, Texas. Delbert and Jeanette had lived in North Zulch since 1976, coming from Marlin, Texas.

Delbert was preceded in death by both of his parents; sister & brotherin- law, Barbara & Boyd Fritz and grandson, Joshua Edward Davis. Surviving family members include wife, Jeanette Davis of North Zulch; son, James Edward Davis (Tina Bachman) of Bertram; daughter, Mary Christene Davis of Fate; grandchildren, Mary Raichell Seefeldt (Cedrick), Jessica Machelle Davis (Pat Magsig) and Rebecca Eilleen Van Winkle (Jon) and great-grandchildren, Cleveland Armon, Mary Celeste & Cameron Joseph Shinn. Delbert is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family.

A funeral service for Delbert was held 10 A.M., Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Bro. Glenn Connor officiated the service, and funeral honors were rendered by the local VFW. A graveside service was held that afternoon at 3 P.M. at Hopewell Cemetery in Liberty Hill, Texas with funeral honors rendered by the Texas State Game Wardens.

Pallbearers: Cleveland Shinn, Jeff Dean, Cedrick Seefeldt, Joey Gordon, Tony Clay, Bubba Sanders.

Honorary Pallbearers: Bridget Goode, David Cofield, Chad Melesky, Lonnie Whitmire. Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas is entrusted with final arrangements.
