Elmer Lee Hall was born in Madisonville, Texas on November 21, 1962 to Zelma Young Hall and B.J.

Hall. Elmer was raised in Normangee, Texas and attended school at Normangee ISD where he graduated as Salutatorian of his 1981 class.

Elmer has worked tirelessly most of his life.

He and his brother had their own lawn mowing business, unloaded box cars filled with feel for Westmoreland’s Grocery. He then went to work Brookshire Brothers Grocery, Godwin’s, Appletree and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice where he worked as a commissary worker. When his health failed, he was supply manager at the Ferguson Unit in Midway, Texas.

Elmer accepted Christ at an early age at Zion Baptist Church in Normangee, Texas under the leadership of of Pastor L.A. Hancock.

He then went on to join Faith Baptist Church where he was baptized again and rededicated his life to Christ. He taught adult Sunday school class, and he was a Deacon, treasurer, and a licensed preacher.

Elmer loved his family, church family and highly valued his friendships, he loved each and every one of them. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, B.J.

Hall and Zelma (Young) Hall; maternal grandmother, Arneal Young, who raised him after his mom died at an early age; and uncle, Earl Johnson. Those that are left to mourn but cherish every moment that he had are his brothers, McKinney Hall and Jimmy Hall; sisters, Mary (Hall) Evans, Gwendolyn Diggles, Beverly Mays Medlock; two nieces, Arnessa Evans-Edwards and Anetra Evans; three nephews, William Evans, Omar Adkins, Adrian Adkins; and a host of nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

A homegoing service for Elmer Lee Hall will be at 1 P.M., Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Faith Baptist Church, Madisonville, Texas. Bro. Mike Cousins will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Culton Cemetery, Leona, Texas. A brief visitation will be from 11 A.M. until service time.

Arrangements are entrusted to Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
