Essie May Lotts-Manning, a hard-working and committed woman to anyone she came across, gained her wings May 21, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Lotts and Ethel (Donaldson) Lots; grandparents, Jardon Donaldson and Mary (Polk) Donaldson and brothers, Donald and Elvis Lotts.

Essie is survived by her forever husband, Timothy Manning; daughters, Valarie Williams (Fred), Timmesha Hernandez (Joe) and Keanna Gibson (Daniel); brothers, Jessie “Twin” Lotts (Theresa), Ollie Lee, Gene Arthur, Johnnie Stafford, Joe Lotts (Sandra), Elmer Lotts (Mary), Linda Williams (Matthew), Brenda Rockwell (Lavell), Lloyd Lewis (Shalynn), Deldrick Lotts and DeAndra Lotts; sisters- in-law, Johnnie Lotts (Donald) and Inolia Lotts (Elvis); aunt, Edna Evans; grandchildren, Khalil “Big Boy,” Mariah “Poochum,” Taylor “Ladybug,” Ariel “SweetPea,” Kori “Peanut,” Emery “Snookums,” and Harley “Miracle” and one great-granddaughter, Karson Mae Williams. Special family includes Ruth Glover (BFFC), DeAndia Johnson and Lakecha Rhodes.

Essie was born in Madisonville, March 31, 1963, where attended school in Madisonville ISD and lived in Midway. After meeting her husband, Timothy, they started a family and she lived the remainder of her life in Houston,. While living in Houston Essie worked hard and devoted her career at Walmart as a manager for over twenty years. After overcoming health issues, Essie committed her life into being a mother, and an even better grandmother.

Homegoing services for Essie were held 3 P.M., Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Wilson Chapel C.O.G.I.C. in rural Leon County, Texas. Elder Strickland officiated the service and interment followed in Spiller Cemetery.

Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, was entrusted with final arrangements.
