Floyd Suttle went to meet his Lord on Easter morning, April 9, 2023, at his home outside Centerville, Texas surrounded by his family.

Floyd was born on January 5, 1941, to Harvey J.B. Suttle and Hattie Bell Lummus. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sylvia Richards.

Floyd served in the U.S. Army in Germany as an M.P. After his discharge in 1965, he married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Jo Flint. He went to work for the Texas State Prison System in 1967. Daughter, Vickey Jo was born in 1962 and Kimberly Sue in 1972 while living on the Ferguson Unit outside Midway.

Floyd retired from TDC, moved back to Leon County, and became a rancher. His loves were his family, his cows, hunting, and “Willie,” his dog.

Survivors include wife, Nancy Suttle of Centerville; daughter, Vickey Goodrum, and husband, Jason of Willis, Texas; daughter, Kim Cummings, and husband, Rickey of Centerville; granddaughter, Taylor Cummings of Centerville; grandson, Logan Cummings of Centerville; brother, Harvey Suttle of Centerville and sister, Starlene Turner of Centerville; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

A funeral service honoring Floyd’s life was held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Pastor Mark Gray officiated the service, assisted by Pastor Tuffy Loftin. Interment followed in Memory

Garden Cemetery on the Suttle property.

Pallbearers: Rickey Cummings, Jason Goodrum, Logan Cummings, Carl Lummus, Charlie Lummus, Charles Cook Honorary Pallbearers: Harvey Suttle, Douglas Richards, Pistol Goodrum, Wesley Warner, Wendell Ellis, J.R. Thomas, Larry Dorman, Brent Dorman, Otis Young, Lewis Stock, Charlie Jetter, Roger Manuel.

In lieu of flowers, the Suttle family kindly requests memorial donations made to the Centerville Volunteer Fire Department.

Arrangements were under the direction of Walters Funeral Home, Centerville.
