A homegoing service for Ira Lee Mosley, age 85, of Bedias, Texas was held 11 A.M., Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.

Interment followed in Lone Star Cemetery, Bedias, Texas.

On May 31, 1938, in Bedias, Grimes County, Texas, the Lord blessed the union of Isaiah and Sloane (Oliver) Mosley with a handsome baby boy. They named their son, Ira Lee Mosley, Sr.

Ira was educated in public schools of Grimes County and attended Marian Anderson High School in Madisonville, Texas. He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Lone Star Baptist Church in Bedias, however he attended services at Wilson Chapel C.O.G.I.C. in Leona, Texas. He was employed at Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutions Division in Huntsville, Texas as a truck driver for twenty years and one month. He also worked for Smither Wholesale for numerous years. Ira also enjoyed trail riding for many years with Huntsville Rough Riders. OnJuly 27, 2023, Ira departed this earth on the wings of angels. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Rhonda Mosley; Linda Mosley and Lillie Mosley; sisters, Hester Griffin and Lillie Mae Scott; and brothers, Quinnie Mosley and Bobby Joe McKinney.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ruby Lee (Proctor) Mosley; sons, Ira Lee “Benny” Mosley, Jr.

(Candis) and Monroe Deshawn Mosley (Kelsey); daughters, Vickey Nellums (Jerry), Lakita Proctor, Ira Lekeitha “KeKe” Mosley, Shirley Kama and Janice Oguin; brothers-in-law, Arthur Gene Proctor (Helen) and Albert Lee Proctor, Jr. (Faye); thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ira is also survived by his best friend, Bailey Rae Mosley, as well as close friends, James Lee Garrett, Melvin Wiley, Freddy Franklin, Mr. Fly, Willie Gene Harrison, Bobbie Isabell and many more.

Arrangements were entrusted to Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
