Janie Lou (Wells) Mc-Calla, 89 years, 5 months, 18 days, a long-time resident of Madisonville, TX passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024, in Sealy, TX. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m.

Thursday; May 9, 2024, at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville with Heidi Dixon officiating. The burial is currently pending at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, TX.

Janie was born on November 17, 1934 to

G.E. and Eva (Nichols) Wells in Mount Olive, MS and was a housewife and a full-time volunteer wherever she lived.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard “Dick” McCalla; her son, Dr. Welton Hill; and her sister, Mary Miles.

Janie is survived by her son, Michael Hill (Melinda); her grandchildren, Noah Hill, Jordan Hill, Taylor Hill, and Kaleb Hill (fiancé, Jessica Nelson); and her nieces, Suzette and Tricia.
