Baumgardner Springfield received her Angel Wings on March 3, 2023, at 87 years of age. She was born in Dallas.

Joy had a 40-year career in the Grocery business until she retired from Brookshire Brothers in 2004.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents; sons Richard Kevin Baumgardner and James Robert Geeo; husband C.C. Springfield; sister Katherine Jones; grandson Daniel Dobbs; daughter-in-law Maria Baumgardner; and son-in-law Paul Dobbs.

Joy is survived by daughter Tracye Sanders (Paul); sister Elizabeth Gullatt; step-son James Baumgardner Jr; step-daughters Maggie McGonnigil (Ken); Alesia Reese (John); surrogate daughter and best friend Rebecca Atkinson (Tony) along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends.

Family and friends are invited to Celebrate Joy’s Life on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Madisonville Christian Fellowship, 3973 Highway 21 East, Madisonville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to NAMI-Brazos Valley in Bryan or the Sonshine Center in Madisonville.
