Funeral services for Buddy Maynard, 64, were held 2 p.m., Friday, June 4, 2021 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Pastor Bruce Ammons officiated the service. Interment followed in Madisonville Cemetery.

Otis Wayne “Buddy” Maynard, Jr. was born August 2, 1956 in Sugar Land, Texas to Otis Wayne, Sr. & Velma (Bailey) Maynard. He was raised in Sugar Land and bravely served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years. Buddy had lived in Missouri City prior to moving to Madisonville and had worked as a machinist for Imperial Sugar Company.

Buddy enjoyed deer hunting anytime the opportunity presented itself. He hunted white tail deer, buffalo, elk, red stag and black bucks, and his favorite hunting spot was in the Hill Country of Texas.

Buddy passed away May 27, 2021 in Bryan, Texas. He is survived by loving wife, Georgia Maynard of Madisonville; son, Jeff Maynard of Arizona and sisters, Sandra Maynard of Madisonville and Susan Stewart (Mike) of Huntsville, AL.
