Walter Carrington Price, age 81, of Bedias, Texas, passed away June 13, 2023, in Bryan, Texas, following an extended illness.

A funeral service celebrating Walter’s life was held at 10 A.M., Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the Church of Singleton. Pastor of the church, Floyd Hoke, officiated the service, and interment followed in Chriesman Cemetery, located in the Chriesman Community of Burleson County, Texas.

Walter was born November 30, 1941, in Chriesman, Texas, to Gilley Carrington & Mary Ann (Bird) Price. He worked as a welder in the oil industry. He and his wife, Pearlita, had lived in Bedias since 1999, coming from Conroe, Texas. Walter was Baptist in faith and attended the Church of Singleton when his health allowed. In his younger years, Walter enjoyed fishing with his father. He was a woodworker, as well as an ironworker, making beautiful art with metal and wood alike. Walter was known for his “gift of gab.” He never met a stranger and could talk with anyone willing to give him the attention and time to do so.

Walter was preceded in death by both of his parents and his granddaughter, Surviving family members are wife, Pearlita (Muirhead) Price of Bedias; sons David Price (Britt) of Carlos and Charles Henry Lloyd “Chuck” Price of Bedias; daughter Teresa Kott (Jay) of Bedias; brother Johnny Price (Jeanie) of Caldwell; sister, Martha Conrad (Kenneth) of Snook; grandchildren, Maegen, Trisha, Jayme, Gavyn and Jacob; and great-grandchildren, Royce and Aurora.
