County to Eddie Lamar and Wilma Jean (Brazzel) Lewis; 88 years of Madisonville, TX; passed away on Saturday; March 11, 2023, in Madisonville, TX. Wilma’s life will be celebrated on Saturday; March 18, 2023, at 11AM at The West Main Church of Christ in Madisonville, TX. Pastor Elmer Josey will officiate. The burial will follow at Midway Southside Cemetery. There will be a visitation Friday; March 17, 2023, at Day Funeral Home Chapel from 6PM-8PM.

Wilma was born on April 28, 1934 in Madison Iva (Wynn) Brazzel and she graduated from Booker T Washington High School in Dallas, TX.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Albert Lewis; her sons, Robert “Vic” Carter, Reginal Carter, Ferrel Brazzel, Standley Brazzel, Lamar Brazzel, and Gregory Floyd Lewis; her grandson, Jeremy O’Neal Brazzel; and her granddaughters Madisyn Carter and Jamie Brazzel.

Wilma is survived by her brother Jessie Mott (Madeline); her sons, Michael Carter (La Tonya), Lloyd Lewis (Shalynn); her daughter, Michele Carter; thirty-one grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

Serving as pallbearers are Charles Carter, Derrick Merchant, Emmanuel Carter, Jawan Lewis, Michael Carter Jr., and Rocky Carter. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Eddie Brazzel, Greg Washington, Lloyd Lewis II, Robert Carter Jr., Terry Keith James, and Isaiah Lotts.
