Ricky James McCormick, 49, of Madisonville, Texas passed peacefully at home on July 10, 2021. Mostly known as Kennel Sergeant for Texas Department of Criminal Justice Ferguson Unit (BigMac, BiggKountry), he was born to Billy Gene McCormick and Smantha Luttrell. Ricky was married to the love of his life, Michelle (ShortyMac). He was a loving father and cherished every moment spent with his family. He loved spending time training the dogs, hunting, fishing and anything done with family and friends.

A celebration of Bobby’s life was scheduled for 12 p.m. on Tuesday; July 6, 2021 at Iola Missionary Baptist Church in Iola, TX with Bro. Dale Evans officiating. There was a visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. and the burial followed the service at Pankey Cemetery.

Elizabeth Jo “Doe Doe” Cannon, 94, of Madisonville, TX went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2021. She was born December 25, 1926 in Madisonville, TX to Ephriam Loyd and Bessie Jane Winters Whitmire. Jo is preceded in death by her parents; husband Will Ernest Cannon; brothers Dalton Sidney Whitmire and Loyd Junior Whitmire and sister Freeda Coece Whitmire Murray. She is survived by her children and their spouses Bill Cannon (Sherry), Dianne Simpson (Bill), Carl Cannon (Lisa) and Joe Lloyd Cannon (Shirley); grandchildren Clint Cannon (Lacey), Hillary Hathorn (Jason), Will Simpson, Dixie Lacy (Matt), Dustin Cannon (Mandy), Caroline Boyd (Tyler), Corey Cannon and Lori Patterson (Chris); 11 great grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.

ANTHONY KENDRICK

Anthony was born August 1, 1954 to Lois Kendrick and Samuel Green. He was an avid student of O.H. Herman Schools. He was raised by his mother and adopted father, Matthew King, Sr. Tony received the call to discipleship at an early age while learning at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Van Vleck under the leadership of Pastor Ollie Reynolds. Tony worked alongside Mathew learning his trade and became a mechanic’s helper as a young boy. He played sports, enjoyed homemaking and was a member of the FFA while in school. Anthony was a member of the Van Vleck High School Graduating Class of 1972. He graduated from Prairie View A&M University, majoring in drafting in 1976. He followed the Calling of His Savior, JESUS Christ and became a Baptist Minister at Outreach Baptist Church, Houston, Texas, under the leadership of Pastor Leonard L. Favorite in the late 90’s. Tony continued his service in the ministry as an Assistant Minister at Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church in Madisonville until COVID struck his earthly temple.
