- Grimes, Leon, Walker & Brazos Counties: $65 per year
- Elsewhere in Texas: $65 per year
- Outside Texas: $70 per year

Retail ads are located throughout the pages of the paper and are only available in display format (i.e., with a border around the outside).
Classified ads are located in The Madisonville Meteor Classifieds section and are available in word and display format. Word ads are listed at the top of the Classified pages, in their appropriate section.

The Madisonville Meteor publishes letters to the editor on almost any topic. All letters must include a phone number for verification purposes. Send your letters to:

DEADLINES

These deadlines refer to days before the ensuing Wednesday that The Madisonville Meteor is published.

The deadline for the B* section, which inlcudes sports and school news, classified block ads, legals, retail and real estate ads, is Friday, 12 p.m. noon.
Word classified ads are due Monday, 10:30 a.m.

In the A* section, news items are due Friday, 5 p.m.
Announcements, which include birthdays, weddings, etc., are due Friday, 4 p.m.
Retail ads must be in by Monday, 12 p.m. noon.
Obituaries that happen late-breaking are accepted until Monday at 5 p.m..
News on events that happen over the weekend or late advertisements can be submitted on Monday and may be published if space and time permits.

All advertising must be paid in advance or may be placed on a charge account with approved credit. We also accept MasterCard and Visa.

* - "A" and "B" refer to halves of the newspaper and may not be in separated labeled sections every week.

EDITORIAL REQUIREMENTS

- Lifestyle announcements - weddings, anniversaries, engagements, newborns and birthdays, along with Church news items, are welcomed
- Submitted photos may be picked up at The Madisonville Meteor after they appear in the newspaper. We are only responsible for photos for 30 days after they have been published.
- Submissions are printed on a space-available basis and must include a name and contact number. All items are subject to editing for style and content.

Since 1894 The Madisonville Meteor has been letting you know what is happening in Madison County and surrounding areas. We find out what is happening by attending local events, contacting local authorities and most importantly, by listening to you tell us what is going on.

We are an old established newspaper that enjoys loyal readership. We cover, by U.S. mail and rack sales more than 82 percent of the households in Madison County, far more than the national average. It is our intent to cover all aspects of the news in Madison County and the surrounding area.

The staff at The Madisonville Meteor is working hard to put as much news as possible in each issue. Each issue features lifestyles, community calendar, agriculture, business pages, school news, editorial pages, news articles, sports, and obituaries as well as pictures and information brought in by our readers. Of course, advertising is a must for newspapers to survive, and our advertisers ads can be found throughout the paper, almost on every page, for your shopping convenience.

Richard Sirman, the Editor of the Meteor, is a multifaceted writer who crafts short stories and poetry. His literary pursuits are enriched by his avid reading of intricate authors such as James Joyce, John Milton, and Marcel Proust. A proud alumnus of Sam Houston State University, Richard devotes his spare moments to delving into books, with his current focus on James Joyce's "Ulysses" and occasional breaks to explore Dante Alighieri's epic masterpiece, "The Divine Comedy."

Ana Cosino, in 2009, with a decade of Bank of Navasota experience, joined the Navasota Examiner as a receptionist, later becoming a typesetter and then the newspaper's sales rep. After eight years, she was unexpectedly named publisher. Family matters to Cosino, both immediate and her newspaper family. She attributes her success to her parents, siblings, and her son, Jason. Cosino is set to marry Mike Mize in February 2024, and she's enthusiastic about her role as publisher in Madisonville, confident in her strong team and eager to embrace the community like she does with The Examiner and The Meteor.
